LG & Tribeca Preview 3D Short Films

Over the past several months LG has been aggressively promoting the 3D category through new product promotions and high-profile film industry events. During the recent Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, the large Korean electronics manufacturer and the Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy previewed some 3D short films as part of the annual event. The 3D shorts were developed by Flashpoint students and faculty as part of a LG-supported initiative to help student filmmakers gain the experience necessary for them to work in the movie industry. "Our students and faculty are very pleased to have the rare opportunity to wrok with the latest in digital film and 3D technology," says Howard Tullman, CEO of Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy. "This experience will give them an edge as they begin their careers outside of the classroom." Included in the 3D shorts were The Flying Wallendas Highwire Family , which featured footage of a live high-wire performance and an animated short called The Universe of 3D that utilized a LG 2D logo that was transformed into 3D graphics.
