
Now that the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has concluded, industry members, video experts and enthusiasts can say with certainty that 3D was a major component of the event. During the show many companies showed the latest 3D broadcasting products, but the biggest question surrounding the format is when will consumers be able to see it without having to wear glasses. New York-based 3D Fusion Corp . is trying to answer the glasses-free 3D TV question and at NAB it showed its latest glasses-free 3D TV products to broadcast professionals that attended the event. In its 3ALITY Digital pavilion exhibit the company showed how its glasses-free 3D images compared to traditional 3D content, and according to Steve Blumenthal, president of 3DFusion, the images that its technology produces looks more realistic than traditional 3D content. "Our 3DFMax images are desgined to mimic the the way the eye sees. It is a more 'real' natural 3D image that can be enjoyed as effortlessly as conventional television without any eyestrain, viewing restrictions or unacceptable side effects," he says.
