Transforming your A/V setup into a 3D setup would certainly be a lot easier if everything were free. Sony is giving at least one person that leg up, hosting a contest titled "Your Life in Sony 3D." This is a social media-driven contest, which means you actually need to do something besides fill in your name and address. First, go to Sony's Facebook page and click on "Your Life in Sony 3D" in the left-hand menu. From there, you'll need to submit a short description of an event you want to see captured in 2011. I'm guessing it needs to be an event that involves you and/or your family and not something like you expect Sony to pay for. Add in a photo and submit your entry into one of four categories: Sports & Recreation, Arts & Entertainment, Cause & Community or Life Milestones & Events. From there, friends and strangers can vote for your idea. The top five submissions (and another five picked by producers at 3net and Sony) will then go a final panel of judges.
