New Glasses Take the 3D Out of 3D Movies

Feeding the 3D habit can get pretty expensive, and some people just don't have the money to blow on equipment and theater premiums. For those that still have the penchant for flushing money down the toilet, please check out 2D Glasses. For $9.99, Gizmodo says that these glasses actually take the 3D out of movies and makes them 2D again. Um, what? Creator Hank Green says he came up with the idea because his wife was always getting 3D-related headaches. Maybe she just didn't want to see "TRON: Legacy," OK? According to the company's website , here's how 2D Glasses take the magic out of 3D movies: "When you watch a 3D movie, there are actually two images being projected onto the screen. That’s why the screen is blurry when you look at it without glasses. In 3D glasses one of the lenses blocks one image and the other lens blocks the other image. Thus, when you watch a 3D movie each of your eyes is seeing a slightly different image. Your brain combines those images together, creating the illusion of a 3D image." Yeah -- ok.
