We don't even have glasses-free 3D TVs in homes yet, but there's already talk of other places where the technology will pop up. According to The Hollywood Reporter , MasterImage 3D is wheeling and dealing to put glasses-free 3D screens into planes and cars. Of course, they wouldn't name any of the actual companies interested, but said that it could be almost 3 years before we see the screens as part of air travel. "We weren't looking at (airlines and car makers) initially," says Roy Taylor, executive VP and GM. "We were focusing on smartphones and tablets, but there turned out to be strong interest." MasterImage currently licenses glasses-free 'cell-matrix parallax barrier' 3D technology to third parties. For instance, they are inside the Hitashi Wooo, the world's first glasses-free 3D mobile phone.
