
If you already wear glasses, you're probably not looking to double up. That makes 3D viewing a major problem. Marchon3D is hoping to make the viewing experience slightly more pleasurable, with the announcement of Ultraclips. The concept is very simple: Clip 'em on and you can give your usual glasses the superpower of 3D vision. Ultraclips features patented, polarized M3D lenses and micro-magnets soldered directly onto the clips. Marchon3D says that the passive lenses are also photochromic, which means they can double as sunglasses. "Older generation clip-ons contained two bulky magnets on the frame and two bulky magnets on the clip, making for a very heavy frame. Due to the construction of the older magnetic system there was a gap in between the clip and the frame, whereas in the Ultraclip system, micro-magnets are soldered onto the clip so it sits flush against the lens," said Jeff Stern, Marchon Eyewear's VP and brand executive. "Pairing this superior, lighter design with the patented M3D lens makes for the ideal passive 3D viewing experience for people with prescription glasses."
