Indeed, from analyses of the wear patterns of fossil horse teeth, Matthew C. Mihlbachler and Nikos Solounias, researchers at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and the American Museum of Natural History, have confirmed the theory that changes in paleoclimate and consequent transitions in diet played a central role in equine evolution.
